Dietitian Services

1to1 Dietitians work collaboratively with team members to support and regulate nutrition for medically and physically compromised individuals.

1to1 has special expertise in dietetics and nutrition management with experience over 20 years. Registered Dietitians work collaboratively with medical personnel as well 1to1 Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists to make up a team for Swallowing and Feeding. 1to1’s Registered Dietitian (RDs) provide assessments and treatment for people of all ages: infants, children, adults, seniors.

1to1’s Registered Dietitian (RDs) provide assessments and treatment for people of all ages. A dietitian can help with, meal management, diabetes, weight loss, palliative support care, allergies, tube feeding, therapeutic intervention (i.e. renal failure, Cardiac disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis and Cerebral Palsy), dysphagia and transitional feedings.

What is a registered dietitian?

1to1’s Registered Dietitians are health care professional with a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree with a strong focus in nutritional science. They have additional training and certification with a dietetic internship program and registration examination. The title “Registered Dietitian” identifies a person as a nutrition “expert”. 1to1 Dietitians are all registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CODO). This ensures that Registered Dietitians meet legal and professional standards for safe, ethical and quality health care.

Trained to complete a formal medical and nutritional assessment history. This assessment will cover a variety of areas including family and medical history, oral motor/feeding and swallowing functionality, sensitivities, diet history and intake analysis. The assessment includes eating and seating assessments as part of the feeding and mealtime environment.

Trained to develop and deliver evidence-based intervention plans while working in consultation with physicians, family, caregivers and team members.

1to1’s Registered Dietitians can assist with:

  • Nutrition concerns related to renal failure, cardiac disease, Parkinson’s, multiplesclerosis, cancer, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, woundcare, cerebralpalsy, gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, enzyme or vitamin deficiency.
  • Palliative support care.
  • Infant and pediatric nutrition.
